Our craft

Made slowly. Sent carefully.

Every Solen candle is poured by hand, in small batches, in a single studio in India. Forty-hour burn. One hundred and fifty grams. Black matte glass. No shortcuts.

We use one hundred percent soy wax — no paraffin, no blends. Cotton wicks. Fragrance oils that are free of phthalates, parabens, and the things you do not want a slow flame to release into the room you sleep in.

Each scent begins where the ingredient begins. Sandalwood from Mysore. Vanilla from Kerala. Vetiver from Tamil Nadu. We work with families who have grown and pressed these things for generations — long before perfumery was a global industry, when scent was a daily offering.

The black glass is fired matte for a reason. It is meant to disappear. The candle is the thing. The vessel is just where it lives. When the wax is finished, the jar can be refilled, repurposed, or returned.

One studio. Three thousand years of practice. Forty hours of light at a time.
